Where do they work?
The team is based at Kimberworth Place Occupational therapists. They also work:
In the community
They help to make sure that children with physical difficulties receive the support they need to ‘live their lives’. For this reason, members of the team are sometimes able to offer home visits and visits to schools or nurseries to see children involved in everyday activities.
In special schools
Due to the physical needs of many of the children and young people in their care, Newman, Hilltop and Kelford Schools have regular visits from the team.
Child Development Centre (click for more information)
Occupational therapists may be part of the multi-disciplinary team assessing a child’s needs. This sort of assessment is offered where there are concerns about more than one area of a child’s development so a team approach is needed.
