Thanks to a bumper month of festive fundraising the Rotherham Hospital and Community
Charity is one step closer to refurbishing the Children’s Ward play area -
now we need your help to shape how it looks.
In December 2021, the charity challenged the public and
colleagues at The Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust to take part in a Christmas
Grotto, a Virtual Santa Jog and Christmas Jumper Day. Fundraisers pulled out
all the stops and the charity’s Christmas appeal raised £6,486.23.
The charity is now looking for youngsters (and grown-ups)
from across Rotherham to tell us how they think the money could be spent on
revamping the rooftop play area at Rotherham Hospital by filling in a short survey.
Suzanne Rutter, Charity Engagement and Development Manager,
said: “We are thrilled that our Christmas appeal inspired people to get
involved in fundraising for their local NHS charity. Whether you bought our
official charity Christmas cards, took part in the Santa Jog or wore your super
sweater, every penny has brought us closer to creating a play area we can
really be proud of.
“We want to transform the rooftop space into a fun,
relaxing and creative area for children of all ages. We can’t wait to get
people, young and old, involved in designing it. Whether you’d love to see a
woodland, jungle or pirate theme, traditional games or something unique, wall
murals or a reading and games den – please tell us what you think.”
The survey takes just a few minutes to complete and can be

The closing date for all your ideas is Friday 11 February
2022.
